We’ve gotten takeout from here a few times but they really shine for dining in! Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was warm, and the staff were wonderful. We had the masala momos, mango chicken curry with malabari paratha, chai lemon drop, and Nepali beer.

Really delicious food, the momos were great, the Nepali Thalia was delicious especially the sautéed mustard greens and pickle with the main vegetables was a surprise. Mattar paneer was delicious too with chapatis and garlic naan. Bhendi masala was average but the owner was very honest about it, especially with the availability of okra. Loved the service, very kind and fast. The ambiance and atmosphere is great too. Small place but a lot of character.

My friend and I visited this place to try authentic Nepali cuisine, we tried Taas Set, it’s out of the world! The meat was so flavorful, crisp and mouth watering:) Also we choose to newari Baji, it’s equally tasty.

We came on a weekday afternoon and were cordially seated right away. We got a lunch special with lamb, chow mein, and spicy momos. Everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious! The lamb was especially tender and full of flavor! Great ambiance, service, and food!

Himalayan Kitchen is such a hidden gem. 🌟 The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered (and we ordered a lot) tasted so fresh and full with flavor! It is very clear the chef pours love into every dish. The staff was incredibly friendly, and Jeremy, the owner, goes out of his way to make sure everyone feels welcome and well taken care of. He genuinely cares about his guests and makes sure everyone leaves happy and well fed. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

This was my wife and I’s first time trying Nepali food and we were blown away. The atmosphere was so cute and cozy and the service was FANTASTIC. I dont remember our server’s name but he even gave us free dessert and we loved speaking with him. If you’re in Sommerville, you need to stop in here and try this family-run restaurant.

We came here to break our fast and were welcomed by not only a delicious halal menu, but an exceptionally warm environment. The owner was incredibly kind and ended our conversation with, “Thank you for breaking your fast with us,” which meant a lot. We ordered the chicken momos and paneer pizza—both were absolutely packed with flavor. 10/10. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Finally satisfied my cravings! Despite a rainy Saturday and a 20-minute wait, the service was lovely—they even took our order in line so the food arrived the moment we sat. It’s a tiny, "hidden gem" spot with a bar and about 7 tables; perfect for a cozy date night. The Scorecard: • Chicken Masala Momos: 9.5/10 (The absolute best!) • Chicken Pan-Fried Momos: 9/10 • Chicken Chow Mein: 8.5/10 • Mango Lassi: 7/10 (A bit syrupy/artificial, but decent.) • Chili Chicken: 6/10 (Standard Indo-Chinese style; didn’t quite hit the mark.) Verdict: If you want authentic Nepali flavors in a cute, intimate setting, this is the place. Highly recommended!

TLDR: Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Portion sizes: average - might need to add an appetizer to be full. Atmosphere/Photo-worthy: 4/5, quaint interior & neighborhood. The service here was 100/10! All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu (or went to ask the owners). You can tell that the family that runs the restaurant truly cares about and loves the food that they make. The owner came out and talked to all the tables. The food was delicious, everything was flavorful and I would get all the dishes I tried again. I would highly recommend to families, hanging out with friends, or a casual date night!
